COACH Snape's Soccer Camps at Butler University

Paul Snape
Head Coach

  • Entering 13th season as Butler Men’s Soccer Head Coach.
  • Coach Snape and his staff were named 2016 Great Lakes Regional Coaching Staff of the Year.
  • Led Butler Men’s Soccer to the 2016 Big East Conference Championship and the 2017 Big East Conference Regular Season Championship.
  • Snape holds a National “A” Coaching License from the United State Soccer Federation, and he’s a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America
  • Prior to Butler, spent eight seasons at The University of Michigan as the Associate Head Coach (2003-2011).
  • Helped Michigan to the 2010 Final Four College Cup and four overall NCAA Tournament appearances.
  • Playing Experience: A 4-year starter and 2-time Captain for Oakland University. He was a three-time Mid-Continent Conference first team All-League selection and a three-time All-Region performer. Also Captained the Michigan Bucks in the PDL for 7 seasons, leading them to 5 division titles.
  • Snape is originally from Liverpool, England, and played for the Liverpool FC Youth Academy & Reserve team (Premier League).

Assistant Coach

Joe Moulden ’19 joined the Butler coaching staff in the spring of 2024. He was a defender for the Bulldogs beginning in 2015 and served as captain during his senior season in 2018.

Moulden comes to Butler after serving as an assistant coach with the Georgia Southern Eagles men’s soccer program from 2020-2023. Over the four seasons, Moulden helped steer the Eagles through Sun Belt Conference competition as the program produced a shutout draw with No. 2 West Virginia and a 1-1 draw with No. 21 Northern Illinois. In addition to training activities and match preparation, Moulden oversaw the academic progress of student-athletes.

Moulden started 76 matches over his four seasons with the Bulldogs, earning All-BIG EAST Second Team honors as a junior in 2017, as well as All-BIG EAST Tournament honors and Third-Team Great Lakes All-Region honors by the United Soccer Coaches. During his time at Butler, the Bulldogs won two BIG EAST titles and made two NCAA tournament appearances, including a run to the Sweet 16 in 2017.

A native of Bolton, England, Moulden earned his bachelor's degree in human movement, health science and education from Butler in 2019 and added a master’s degree in kinesiology from Georgia Southern in 2022.

 

Adam Bruh
Assistant Coach

  • Entering 13th season as Butler Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach.
  • Member of the staff named 2016 Great Lakes Regional Coaching Staff of the Year.
  • Helped lead Butler to the 2016 Big East Conference Tournament Championship and the 2017 Big East Conference Regular Season Championship.
  • Helped Lead Butler to NCAA Tournament appearances in 2016, 2017 & 2019, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2017.
  • Prior to Butler, member of University of Michigan staff that went to 2010 College Cup.
  • Former head coach for Indiana Fire & Albertson Soccer club in the US Soccer Development Academy.
  • Former head coach for Albertson in the ECNL.
  • Playing Experience: University of Michigan Captain (2005) and all time single season and career assist leader.
 

Fabian Knopfler
Volunteer Assistant Coach

  • Entering his 9th season as a Butler Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach in charge of the Goalkeepers.
  • Head Goalkeeping Coach at Zionsville Youth Soccer Academy.
  • Playing Experience: Helped the Butler Bulldogs win back to back Horizon League Championships (2009, 2010). Prior to Butler, played for VfB Stuttgart, a youth academy team of Bundesliga professional club. Made multiple appearances for the u15 and u16 German National Teams.
 

Joe Sochaki

  • Butler University Men’s Soccer Staff Member (Assistant and Head Coach) from 1996 – 2006.
  • Indiana Fire Development Academy Director from 2007 – 2012
  • Current Indiana Fire Juniors ECNL Director
  • Holds USSF A License
 

Aubrey Buehler

  • Current Director of Coaching for Girls U8 – U12 at Indy Premier.
  • 9 years of youth team coaching experience as well as specialized Goalkeeper Training.
  • Three year starting Goalkeeper at Ball State University, totaling 17 career shutouts.
 

Nathan Waplington

  • Current Director of Coaching for Boys U8 – U12 at Indy Premier.

 

 

 

Brandon Kim

  • Played at Carmel High School and University of Southern Indiana
  • Coach on the Girls Side at Indiana Fire Juniors from 2012 – present
  • Current Coach for Girls Varsity team at Park Tudor
  • Holds USSF C License
     
 

Ante Cop

  • Current Head Coach of Governors State Women’s Soccer Program (NAIA).
  • 23 years of experience, both indoor and outdoor, at the Professional level in Europe and the United States.
  • Holds USSF A License
  • Former All-American at Southern New Hampshire & College of DuPage.
  • Former Assistant Coach in charge of Goalkeepers at IUPUI.
  • Spent time in charge of boys’ teams at Hoosier FC, FC Pride & currently with Indiana Elite FC.
  • Current Professor of Psychology & Counseling at Governors State.
 

Andy Swift

  • Current Director of Goalkeeping Coach at Indiana Fire Juniors
  • Current Assistant Coach in charge of Goalkeeping with Indy 11 (USL Championship).
  • Former Assistant Coach at Marian University
  • Also worked as an Assistant Coach at Jacksonville State & the University of Akron.
 

Kim Cop

  • Former 3-year standout Butler Women’s Soccer player.
  • Holds USSF B License and United Soccer Coaches of America Advanced National Diploma.
  • Current Director of Coaching at Indiana Elite FC.
 

John Higgins

  • University of Indianapolis Head Coach from 2010 – present.
  • 2019 Division II NCAA Tournament Final 4 Appearance.
  • Over 100 wins as UINDY Head Coach.
  • 2013 GLVC Coach of the Year.
  • In 2014, The University of Indianapolis won its first ever GLVC Championship.
  • 3 years as Indiana Fire Development Academy Head Coach and current Director of Coaching at St. Francis Soccer Club.
 

Doug Starnes

  • 2002 graduate of Baylor University.
  • Former Indiana University Women’s Soccer Assistant Coach in charge of Goalkeeping.
  • Former IUPUI University Women’s Assistant Coach.
  • Spent 4 years at DePauw including one as their head coach.
  • Was a Head Coach and Girls Club Recruiting Advisor for Hoosier FC.
 

Chris Grassie

  • Current Coach at Marshall University.
  • 2019 Conference USA Champions and NCAA Sweet 16 appearance.
  • Former Coach at University of Charleston (WV)
  • Charleston were the 2014 National Runner-Up in Division 2 after completing an undefeated regular season for the first time in program history.
  • MEC Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2014
  • Assistant Coach with Paul Snape on the University of Michigan staff in 2010 that went to a Final 4.
 

The Butler University men’s soccer coaching staff will lead all functions and organization of the camp. Assisting with the Butler staff will be a highly qualified group of club coaches, high school coaches, and other various college coaches.

This camp is independently owned and operated.
